Dreaming and waking.

no one buys second hand

when they can buy brand new.

who wants a butterfly with broken wings?

when they can have one with both her wings.

who wants a girl,

who is broken

in every possible way you can imagine,

who wants a girl,

more contrary than Mary

all that grows in her garden are weeds

what hope, potential or future is there,

with a girl like her?

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure

but spoilt milk is trash by any measure

but sometimes,

the butterfly with the broken wing dreams

she dreams of someone to sooth her hurts

she dreams of someone to allay her fears

she dreams of someone who is okay with her broken wing

she dreams of someone who would restore her

she dreams of an other butterfly

to accompany her while over flower fields she hovers high,

while he supports and helps meet her

so her broken wing doesn’t drag them both down

and she loves him

so extra nectar she gives him

it’s just a dream

and she guesses there’s nothing wrong with dreaming.

But,

How comes she always wakes up?
